Throughout my time at IUPUI I have gotten to do some fun and exciting things that I would love to show you all! I actually did not start out majoring in philanthropic studies and I had a completely different plan going into my freshman year. Follow along to see where I started and the impact each adventure had on my journey!
The Fund Raising School | I had the privilege of working with the Fund Raising School with the Leadership Roundtable where they discussed amazing fundraising experiences and skills.
MS Society Internship | I met the mayor several times, but I was able to get a picture with him at the canal when with the MS Society as an intern.
Jagathon | I got to participate in Jagathon (the largest fundraising organization on campus) 3 years in a row! The kids at Riley and my fellow Jagathoners (coining that as a word) have inspired me so much along the way. #FTK
Sigma Kappa | I joined Sigma Kappa Sorority and met some of the most amazing people. These women inspire me to be a better version of myself every day and I don't think I could have made it through all four years of college without them. Through Sigma Kappa I found my passion for philanthropy and attended multiple Walks to End Alzheimer's and planted trees with Keep Indy Beautiful!
Cultural Trail | I explored the Cultural Trail and discovered some amazing art along the way! I loved experiencing the trail with my philanthropals, UIFI | I attended the Undergraduate Inter-fraternity Institute where I met fraternity and sorority members from all across the country and become basically best friends with all of them in literally 5 days. I was able to volunteer with sorority and fraternity members from across the country in Bloomington. We took out invasive species of plants to support the local plant ecosystem.Meanwhile we talked about leadership in our communities and campuses and how to make an impact!
Horizon House Internship | I interned at Horizon House, which is a Day Shelter for people experiencing homelessness in Indianapolis. While interning, I expanded my knowledge of the term neighbor and I was able to help with their donor outreach via social media efforts. If you've made it this far, you should pay it forward to someone in need. This cause holds a special place in my heart and I highly recommend supporting Horizon House.
LFSOP | The most impactful thing that happened throughout my time at IUPUI, is that I found the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. I have loved getting to learn from the most talented and intelligent professors. Most importantly, the school has given me the skills and tools to make my passion my profession!
